The International Fiscal Association (IFA) – Romania Launch Conference takes place on May 12, 2026

On May 12, 2026, a press conference and the official launch conference of IFA Romania will take place in Bucharest. The event will start at 10:00 and will take place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest (Str. Ion Ghica, no. 4, Sector 3). The event’s agenda will include: presentation of the vision and objectives of IFA Romania; interventions by prestigious guests from the fiscal, academic and institutional environment; discussions on current challenges and trends in international taxation; networking session with opinion leaders and professionals in the field. This moment represents an important step in strengthening the dialogue between practitioners, authorities and academia, in the context of an increasingly globalized economy subject to accelerated fiscal transformations.

IFA Romania is the local branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the only independent international organization dedicated to the study and development of international and comparative law in the field of public finance, in particular international and comparative tax law and the financial and economic aspects of taxation.

IFA members are high-level representatives from the private and public sectors, the judiciary, academia and international governmental and non-governmental organizations, who are actively involved and contribute their knowledge and efforts worldwide in research, publications, congresses, seminars, etc. IFA members are neutral and independent. They do not represent group interests and do not engage in lobbying activities. IFA maintains high standards in our debates and conclusions. In this way, a necessary, independent and neutral platform can be provided for experts belonging to different sectors of society, where opinions on international tax topics can be exchanged with respect for each other’s experiences and responsibilities.

IFA aims to achieve these objectives through its annual congresses, conferences and workshops and related scientific publications, as well as through scientific research activities and dialogue between the various categories of professionals in international taxation.

Although the IFA’s activity is essentially scientific in nature, the selected topics take into account current tax developments and changes in local legislation. Thus, IFA represents a platform for dialogue between academia, representatives of the business environment, representatives of government institutions and international bodies, which identify current problems and possible solutions to problems in international taxation.
