Master's Admissions – September 2026

For the September 2026 admission session, the Faculty of Law is organizing admissions to the following one-year Master’s degree programmes (2 semesters), full-time, for the places that remained unfilled after the July 2026 admission session:
  1. EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW – in Romanian-9 state-funded places and 32 tuition-fee-paying places
  2. INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE BUSINESS LAW – in English-2 state-funded places and 31 tuition-fee-paying places
  3. PRIVATE LAW OF THE EUROPEAN UNION – in Hungarian-3 state-funded places and 44 tuition-fee-paying places
Selection criteria:
 
1. EUROPEAN LAW AND NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW – in Romanian
 
  • Interview – with a weight of 50% in the final average
  • File evaluation – with a weight of 50% in the final average

2. INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE BUSINESS LAW – in English

  • Interview in English – with a weight of 50% in the final average
  • File evaluation – with a weight of 50% in the final average

3. PRIVATE LAW OF THE EUROPEAN UNION – in Hungarian

  • Interview in Hungarian (based on a displayed topic) – with a weight of 50% in the final average
  • File evaluation – with a weight of 50% in the final average

Tie-up criteria in case of equal averages:

  • average obtained in the bachelor’s exam.
  • general average of the years of study (1-4) – bachelor’s level

Admission calendar, september 2026 session

7-8 September 2026 – Online registration of candidates (the platform will close on September 8 at 12:00)
 
9 September 2026 – Period for reporting errors and omissions (wrong grades, incorrectly calculated averages, incorrect personal data) – until 14:00
 
10 September 2026 – Admission tests (interview)
 
11 September 2026 – Displaying results
 
11-12 September 2026 – Submitting online appeals – exclusively for the written test
 
12 September 2026 – Resolving appeals
 
12-14 September 2026 – Confirmation of places and redistributions (on September 14 until 12:00).
 
Confirmation will be made both online, as well as physically by submitting the file, and the candidates admitted to the fee will pay the first installment of tuition (1,500 lei).
 
September 15, 2026 – Display of final results
 
Tuition fee – 6,000 lei/academic year
 
Admission fee – 600 lei = composed of 200 lei processing fee + 400 lei registration fee.
 
Payment of the fee will be made exclusively online on the admission platform https://admitere.ubbcluj.ro/.

The final results for the Master’s level admission — July 2026 session, were posted on July 29, 2026.

Appeals for the Written Exam – Criminal Sciences and Forensics

Confirmation of Master’s places. Master’s place redistribution. Dorm accommodation requests

Confirmation, redistribution of seats, and submission of accommodation applications for Master’s students will take place on July 24, 25, 26, 27 (between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM) and July 28 (between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM) at the Master’s Secretariat – Office P1, Faculty of Law, 10-12 Gen. Traian Moșoiu Street, Cluj-Napoca

Written Examination Results, Grade Appeal Period, and Admission Results – Criminal Sciences and Criminalistics Master's Programme

The written examination grades were published in the applicants’ accounts on the admission platform today, 22 July 2026, at 5 p.m.

The minimum passing grade for admission to the Master’s programme is 6 (six).

Appeals regarding the written examination grade for the Criminal Sciences and Criminalistics Master’s programme may be submitted by e-mail to simona.pop@law.ubbcluj.ro no later than 23 July 2026, 5 p.m., the appeal must be sent as a scanned document – The email subject line must read “Appeal”, and the e-mail must include the following information: the applicant’s full name; personal identification number (CNP); admission registration number; the grounds for the appeal.

Please note: The list includes only applicants who obtained the minimum passing grade for admission, namely 6 (six), or higher.

Initial Results of the Master's Admission Examination

The initial results of the Master’s admission examination for the following programmes:

  1. Private Law Institutions
  2. International and Comparative Business Law (taught in English)
  3. European and National Business Law
  4. Private Law of the European Union (taught in Hungarian)

were published today, 22 July 2026.

The admission lists are displayed using the applicants’ registration number (the search function is enabled).

List Legend:

  • Admis A = Admitted – State-funded place
  • Admis B = Admitted – Tuition-paying place
  • Criterion 1 = Tie-breaking Criterion 1 – Bachelor’s degree final average grade
  • Criterion 2 = Tie-breaking Criterion 2 – Average grade for all years of undergraduate study

The results for the Criminal Sciences and Criminalistics Master’s programme will be published at a later time.

Information regarding the confirmation of admission places will be published on 23 July 2026.

Schedule of Master's Admission Exams – July 21, 2026

The Faculty of Law announces that the master’s degree admission exams will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Faculty of Law, located at 10-12 General Traian Moșoiu Street.

Candidates must bring the following with them:

  • Identity Document (ID card/Passport);
  • Exam Badge– printed or in electronic format (For Criminal Sciences and Forensics candidates only).

The competition ID number can be found on the admission platform, and candidates for the Criminal Sciences specialization will also receive it via email.

The written exam in Criminal Sciences and Forensics will take place starting at 9:00 AM in the Alexandru Angelescu Amphitheater (ground floor).

The interviews will take place as follows:

  • Private Law of the European Union will begin at 9:00 AM in the Kolosvary Sandor Room (2nd floor);
  • European and National Business Law will begin at 9:00 AM in the Traian Pop Amphitheater (ground floor);
  • Institutions of Private Law will begin at 9:00 AM in the Aurelian Ionașcu Amphitheater (ground floor);
  • International and Comparative Business Law will begin at 9:00 AM in room 106 (1st floor).

Registration for Master admission is closed.

Candidates are required to verify their data on the admission platform and report any errors or omissions (strictly regarding GPAs and options) via email to simona.pop@law.ubbcluj.ro by July 19 at 2:00 PM.

Your registration is only considered valid once you receive the status APPLICATION REGISTERED on the admission platform.

For the academic year 2026-2027, the Faculty of Law organizes admission to the following master’s programs with a duration of one year (2 semesters), the form of education – full-time:

  1. CRIMINAL SCIENCES – in Romanian

– Written test lasting 2 hours, in Romanian, on the displayed topic, with a weight of 100% in the final average

  1. EUROPEAN LAW AND NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW – in Romanian

– Interview – with a weight of 50% in the final average

– File evaluation – with a weight of 50% in the final average

  1. INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE BUSINESS LAW – in English

– Interview in English – with a weight of 50% in the final average

– minimum 4-year study duration, bachelor’s level (minimum 240 credits)

– possession of a certificate of linguistic competence in an internationally spoken language.

TUITION FEE – 6,000 lei/academic year

ADMISSION FEE – 600 lei = composed of 200 lei processing fee + 400 lei registration fee.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

A candidate may apply to multiple study programs by submitting a separate application file for each program. A separate application fee must be paid for each application file.

Applicants are advised to select both funding options: state-funded (budget) and tuition-paying (fee-paying).
 
Applicants must provide their personal contact information (phone number and email address).
 
They should also regularly check the application platform for their application status, examination registration number, any updates or decisions made by the admissions committee, and their recorded grades (under My Applications – Application Status).
 
An application is considered valid only after the status Application Submitted is displayed in the admissions platform.
 
Candidates will upload scans of the following documents to the admission platform https://admitere.ubbcluj.ro/:
  1. Registration form – generated from the platform;
  2. Baccalaureate diploma and high school transcript;
  3. Bachelor’s degree and diploma supplement, respectively bachelor’s degree certificate (for graduates of the 2026 class)
  4. Language proficiency certificate (MANDATORY for all specializations)

Linguistic proficiency is certified by the Language Proficiency Certificate issued by the modern language departments of accredited universities (with a qualification corresponding to at least level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​of the Council of Europe).

Accepted certificates can be found in the Admission Regulations.

  1. For candidates, Romanian citizens, with a Romanian identity card, but who have completed their bachelor’s degree studies in another country, proof of equivalence of studies is required.
