Between 23 and 26 July 2025, the team consisting of Alina-Ștefania Bogdan (4th year), Alexandru Andrei Breșug (Master’s Degree), Ana Maria Carla Lupo (4th year), Darius-Mihai Moldovan (4th year) and Mădălina Ioana Sinca (4th year) participated in the Nuremberg Moot Court on international criminal law, held in Nuremberg, Germany.

The team’s preparation was coordinated by Laurențiu-Vasile Negrean, PhD candidate and collaborator of the Faculty of Law.

Organized under the auspices of the International Nuremberg Principles Academy and the Friedrich-Alexander University (Erlangen–Nuremberg), the competition comprises two stages: a written round, where teams draft two memorials (for Prosecution and Defence) in a fictional case, and an oral round, where they plead before a “Pre-Trial Chamber” of the International Criminal Court.

In the written stage, the Faculty of Law team ranked among the top fifteen teams worldwide, thus qualifying for the oral rounds held in the renowned Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice.

The competition offered a valuable opportunity for students to debate complex issues of international criminal law alongside peers from prestigious universities worldwide. The participation of the Faculty’s team was made possible through the support of Babeș-Bolyai University and sponsorship from attorney Alexandru Râșniță (Cluj Bar).

The 2025 edition was won by the Dharmashastra National Law University (India), which defeated Kabarak University (Kenya) in the final round.
