We are pleased to announce that the students of the Faculty of Law of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca have won 1st place in the general ranking of the prestigious interuniversity competition “Hexagon of Law Faculties”.

This year’s edition of the competition took place in Chișinău, from April 22 to 25, 2026, and was hosted by the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova.

The Hexagon of Law Faculties is an informal consortium that brings together the six most important law faculties in the country – Bucharest, Cluj, Craiova, Iași, Sibiu and Timișoara – which was also joined by the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova. The competition, organized annually under the aegis of Hexagon, is today the oldest professional and inter-university sports competition in the country, having debuted in the early 1970s as the Triangular of Law Faculties (Bucharest, Cluj, Iași). True to the principle of mens sana in corpore sano, the competition includes three scientific events, in the disciplines of civil law, criminal law and constitutional law, as well as four sports events – men’s football, women’s basketball, chess and table tennis.

In this year’s edition, the students of the Faculty of Law of Babeș-Bolyai University obtained 1st place in the general ranking. Among the performances in some of the tests, we mention the 1st place obtained in criminal law with a fabulous score of 95.5 points out of 100 possible in the theoretical test and respectively the victory of the women’s basketball team in the competition. This is another result that confirms the quality of the academic process and the consistency of the training of the students of the Faculty of Law, in line with the tradition and excellence of Babeș-Bolyai University.
