Announcement regarding the granting of social scholarships through the project Interventions for tertiary education – systemic measures to prevent and reduce university dropout, SMIS code 322473

“Babeș-Bolyai” University Cluj-Napoca participates in the implementation of activity A6 – Granting social scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and groups, within the project “Interventions for tertiary education – systemic measures to prevent and reduce university dropout”, code SMIS 322473, carried out by the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, co-financed by the European Social Fund, through the Education and Employment Program 2021–2027, and from the national budget.
Activity A6 – Granting social scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and groups aims to grant social scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and groups, in order to support their access, participation and retention in higher education, as a measure to prevent and reduce university dropout. The social scholarship granted through the project is in a fixed amount of 925 lei/month and is granted until July 2026, inclusive.
Students who cumulatively meet the following eligibility conditions may be part of the project’s target group:
- aged between 18 and 29 years at the date of registration, be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree, in the full-time form of education, in a place financed from the state budget;
- meet the conditions for granting the social scholarship provided for in art. 10 par. (9) let. a–c of OME no. 6463/2023;
- meet the conditions for granting the social scholarship provided for in the university’s social scholarship granting methodology.
During the first stage of registration, the university uploads to the UEFISCDI social scholarship platform the list of students selected for the social scholarship in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year (paid in January 2026), who meet the eligibility conditions provided for in the project. Subsequently, students included in this stage will receive, by e-mail, the information necessary to activate the account in the UEFISCDI social scholarship platform, complete the requested data and sign the documents related to registration in the target group of the project.
For the second stage of registration, students must follow the calendar and instructions communicated by the university.
Students receiving the social scholarship, as well as those selected later in the second stage, are asked to periodically check the e-mail address communicated to the university, including the Spam/Junk folder, so as not to miss messages regarding registration in the UEFISCDI social scholarship platform, completing the requested information and signing the necessary documents.
